๐Ÿ•Œ Halal & Religious Facilities

Are all meals guaranteed to be halal? +
Yes! We work exclusively with FIANZ (Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand) certified restaurants and halal suppliers. In areas where certified halal meat is unavailable, we provide seafood or vegetarian options. Every meal is carefully vetted for halal compliance.
Are there mosques and prayer facilities in New Zealand? +
Yes! Auckland has several mosques including Ponsonby Masjid and Mt Roskill Islamic Centre. Wellington and Christchurch also have established mosques. In smaller towns, we arrange prayer spaces at hotels and provide portable prayer mats. All itineraries are planned around prayer times.
Can we perform Jummah prayers during the tour? +
Absolutely! We schedule Friday activities to ensure you can attend Jummah prayers at local mosques. In cities with mosques, we arrange transportation and time for congregation prayers. Our guides are Muslim and understand the importance of religious observance.
What about halal food in remote areas? +
In remote locations like Milford Sound or Mt Cook where halal restaurants are limited, we pre-arrange halal packed meals from certified suppliers or provide seafood/vegetarian alternatives. We always plan ahead to ensure you never compromise on halal requirements.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Booking & Payment

What's included in the tour price? +
Our packages typically include accommodation, transportation within New Zealand, professional Malay-speaking guide, travel insurance, and prayer facility arrangements. Flight upgrades and optional activities may incur additional costs.
What's your payment policy? +
We require a 30% deposit upon booking confirmation, with the balance due 60 days before departure. We accept bank transfers, credit cards, and online payment platforms. Full payment details and terms will be provided with your booking confirmation.
What's your cancellation policy? +

Cancellation fees reflect the actual costs Berkat Tours incurs with suppliers and service providers at the time of cancellation:

1. 90+ days before departure: Deposit forfeited (covers administrative and initial booking costs)

2. 60โ€“89 days before departure: 50% of total cost (reflects confirmed supplier commitments)

3. 30โ€“59 days before departure: 75% of total cost (reflects non-recoverable supplier payments)

4. Less than 30 days before departure: Up to 90% of total cost (reflects fully committed supplier costs). Any recoverable amounts from suppliers will be refunded to you, less a reasonable administration fee.

If we are able to resell your tour place, we will refund the difference less a reasonable administration fee. If Berkat Tours cancels a tour for any reason within our control, you will receive a full refund.

In the event of circumstances beyond either party's control โ€” such as natural disasters, pandemics, or government travel restrictions โ€” refunds will be handled in accordance with the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 (frustrated contracts provisions).

This cancellation policy is provided at the time of booking and forms part of our Terms & Conditions. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking to protect against unforeseen circumstances.
Can I pay in installments? +
Yes! We offer flexible payment plans for bookings made at least 6 months in advance. Contact us to discuss a customized payment schedule that works for your budget. Terms and conditions apply.

โœˆ๏ธ Travel & Logistics

Do I need a visa to visit New Zealand? +
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Travelers from some countries may only need an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) for visits up to 90 days, while others may require a Visitor Visa. We provide complete assistance with the NZeTA or visa application process.

To check your eligibility, visit Immigration New Zealand's official visa tool: Check if you need a visa or NZeTA

Please allow up to 72 hours for NZeTA processing. We recommend applying well in advance of your departure date.
What's the best time to visit New Zealand? +
New Zealand is beautiful year-round! Summer (December-February) offers warm weather perfect for outdoor activities. Autumn (March-May) has stunning foliage and fewer crowds. Winter (June-August) is ideal for skiing. Spring (September-November) brings blooming flowers and moderate temperatures. We help you choose based on your interests and Ramadan schedule if applicable.
Is travel insurance necessary? +
While not mandatory, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and lost luggage. New Zealand's healthcare is excellent but can be expensive for tourists. We can recommend insurance providers familiar with Muslim travelers' needs.
